Book Condition Grading
Our book condition grading falls under three categories.
These categories are also subject to a + or – rating which signifies if the book condition is near the top for that grading or near the bottom.
See below for a more detailed explanation of each category:
A: Like New
This category indicates that the book is in excellent used condition with no visible wear, intact pages, and no markings or damage. It may have minimal signs of previous ownership, and buyers should check each individual product’s listing for any specific imperfections.
B: Very Good
This category indicates that the book is in excellent used condition. It shows signs of having been read but has no major wear, no damage to the cover or dust jacket, and no missing, torn, or marked pages. It may have minimal marks or light wear, and buyers should check each individual product’s listing for any specific imperfections.
C: Good to Fair
This category indicates that the book might be in good or fair condition.
If the book is in good condition, it could have light wear, including minor cover scuffs and minimal binding wear. Most pages are clean with only slight creasing and limited pencil underlining, and no pages are missing. The dust jacket may be absent for hardcovers. Buyers should check each individual product’s listing for any specific imperfections.
If the book is in fair condition, it could show clear signs of use, with noticeable wear to the cover and slight binding damage, though both remain fully intact. Some writing, underlining, or highlighting may be present, but all pages are included and the text remains fully readable. Buyers should check each individual product’s listing for specific imperfections.
